SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. – Manny Bragg of Kirksville, Mo. picked up his second USPSA regional title of the season with his Limited division win at the 2011 USPSA Area 1 Regional Handgun Championship, Presented by Springfield Armory, this past weekend in Shedd, Ore.
SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — Sara Dunivin of Phoenix, Ariz. outgunned a field of top women shooters, including the three women who between them have won the title over the last five years, to claim the Women’s title at the 2011 Springfield Armory USPSA Single Stack Nationals.
Dunivin, who won three stages in the match, pulled ahead on the second stage, moving up from third place, and held her lead through the final course of fire in the 14 stage shooting competition. Her final score of 683.7541 points outpaced her nearest rival, Cameron’s Custom Guns shooter Lisa Munson of Marysville, Wash., by 20.6760 points.FROSTPROOF, Fla. — For the third year in a row Glock’s Randi Rogers has won at the U.S. Practical Shooting Association’s Area 6 Regional Handgun Championship, this time in the Limited division.
Congratulations to Nils Jonasson and Lisa Munson for taking top honors at the Western States Single Stack Championships this past weekend in Mesa, Arizona. A special shout out to Don Bednorz who took the top spot among the Seniors and Joey Ortiz who finished as the top Super Senior. For the second year in a row Eva Micklethwaite of Tempe, Ariz. won the Lady’s Open division title at the U.S. Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Area 2 Regional Handgun Championship held this past weekend at the Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club in Mesa, Ariz.
Micklethwaite, who last year narrowly edged out Jenny Chu of Fremont, Calif., this year’s fourth place shooter, by just over half a point, shot her way to a 21+ point margin over her nearest competitor, Lisa Munson of Marysville, Wash., with a final score of 893.9717 points.Munson took second with 872.1905 while Valerie Lavanza- Rosales of Glendale, Calif. claimed third with 867.6553. Chu’s 825.8389 put her in fourth and Kay Miculek of Princeton, La. rounded out the top five with 794.6632 points.
The USPSA Area 2 Championship drew more than 370 top competition shooters. Area 2 is the Southwest region within USPSA, one of the eight shooting regions in the country, and is made up of Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii and New Mexico but shooters from around the country attended.
